PUBLIC NOTICE ISSUED -- POSTED APRIL 8, 2025
The Board of Supervisors of Lower Paxton Township hereby gives public notice that a public hearing on Ordinance 25-01, is scheduled for May 19, 2025. The public hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Municipal Center, 425 Prince Street, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The ordinance will be discussed prior to the hearing at the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for May 7, 2025.
Ordinance 25-01 amends Chapter 203 of the Zoning Ordinance, Section 303, to modify the Lower Paxton Township Zoning Map (the “Zoning Map”) to delete the RC, Residential District. A comprehensive zoning map amendment will reflect changes that have occurred in the township since the last comprehensive revision in 2006.
In addition, Ordinance 25-01 repeals and replaces Chapter 203, Zoning, of the Codified Ordiance, in its entirety. The following sections will be replaced as follows: Article 1 General Provisions; Article 2 Definitions; Article 3 District Regulations; Article 4 Overlay Districts; Article 5 Supplemental Regulations; Article 6 Standards and Criteria for Conditional Use; Article 7 Standards and Criteria for Uses by Special Exception; Article 8 Wireless Communication Facilities; Article 9 Parking and Loading Requirements; Article 10 Signs; Article 11 Nonconforming Uses, Structures, Lots and Signs; Article 12 Administration and Enforcement; Article 13 Zoning Hearing Board.
Ordinance 25-01 also contains a repealer clause, a severability clause and an effective date.
Following the public hearing on May 19, 2025, the Board of Supervisors will consider enactment of Ordinance No. 25-01.
A copy of Ordinance No. 25-01 may be examined without charge or a copy of the ordinance may be obtained for the cost to prepare the copy at the Township Municipal Center during business hours.

The public hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Township Municipal Center, 425 Prince Street, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. The ordinance will be discussed prior to the hearing at the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for May 7, 2025.
Ordinance 25-05 Amends the Townships Land Use Map and land Use categories to include descriptions of the Neighborhood Design Zone and Towne Centre District. While deleting the Residential Cluster District.
In addition, Ordinance 25-05 amends the language of the Lower Paxton Township Comprehensive Plan, as adopted on August 8, 2018 to include language for the Neighborhood Design District and the Towne Centre District and a deletion of the Residential Cluster District.
Following the public hearing on May 19, 2025, the Board of Supervisors will consider enactment of Ordinance No. 25-05.
