What's the difference between a community park and a neighborhood park?
A neighborhood park usually has park basics, such as a playground, multipurpose fields for casual play, and a portable restroom during the season. Neighborhood parks that have pavilions may or may not have electricity. People typically walk to a neighborhood park.
Community parks are greater than 10 acres in size. The larger size of these parks make it possible to provide parking and permanent restroom facilities. Community parks provide a range of amenities which can include baseball, softball, volleyball, basketball, football, soccer, and multi-purpose fields to accommodate all ages.

Pavilion Reservations – Conditions of Use
About Pavilion Rentals
Each pavilion rental includes picnic tables and charcoal grills. Most of the pavilions have electricity available with your rental. Most community parks have permanent restrooms, and neighborhood parks have portable restrooms throughout the summer months. A pavilion reservation guarantees the use of that facility only, it does not guarantee the use of the adjacent park facilities, ballfields, courts, playgrounds, or equipment. . If a pavilion is not reserved, it is open to the public and users may not exclude others from using it.
Due to the nature of a pavilion being an outdoor facility with public access, the Parks and Recreation Department does not guarantee the condition of the facility.
Available Dates & Reservations
Parks & Recreation will open the reservation system on the day after Presidents' Day each year. You can make reservations for the current calendar year only, and they must be made a minimum of two weeks in advance.
What's New This Year?
The time between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend is very popular for parties in a park pavilion. To be able to accommodate more renters at our community parks, we are allowing renters to choose an afternoon time slot or an evening time slot for a lower cost than the full day rental. This option is only available during the time mentioned, and only at the community park locations. You will still be able to reserve a full day at all of our pavilions.
