[ARCHIVED] Opportunity for organizations to seek Township support for County gaming grants

Every year, the Dauphin County Commissioners oversee a process allowing organizations to apply for grants funded through the County’s share of Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course’s gaming revenue. As part of the process, organizations can ask their home municipality to provide a letter supporting their grant request.

Organizations based in Lower Paxton Township or whose programs benefit Township residents can submit a request for a support letter.

  • Support letter requests, including project scope and application, must be received by the Township Manager by 5 p.m. on Friday, June 9.
  • At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, the Lower Paxton Township Board of Supervisors will consider and discuss requests. Representatives of organizations seeking support letters are encouraged to attend.
  • At the Board of Supervisors' 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20 meeting, they will adopt a resolution regarding which projects the Township will support. Approved organizations will receive a support letter shortly after the session for applying to Dauphin County.
  • Any questions regarding this process or the Township's overall position on the County Local Share Gaming Grant program should be directed to the Township Manager, Brad Gotshall.
