Where does the Locust Lane & Fairmont Road Traffic Signal Project stand?
Great Question!
Right now, the Township is in the process of Right of Way acquisition.
This is the process in which the Township works with properties close to the intersection (those impacted by construction on their property) and the properties grant an easement (give permission) allowing the Township/PennDOT to access their land for this project.
Once the acquisition process is complete, the Township must resubmit plan to PennDOT and await the review process and issuance of the signal permit.
Finally, one step closer, but still several steps to go.
At the January 19, 2021 Board of Supervisors Meeting, the Board approved the acceptance of the final easement to move this project forward. The Township is now able to resubmit the plan to PennDOT.
