Residents are required to display a permit to access the Compost Facility. Annual and daily permits are available at the Municipal Center and at Hornung’s Hardware Store.
Lower Paxton Township residents may take leaf waste to the Compost Facility. For more information about leaf and waste compost, please visit the Leaf and Compost page.
Leaf waste may be delivered loose or in kraft bags; plastic bags may not be left at the Compost Facility. Residents may take screened compost in 36-gal containers or kraft bags. Residents may also take woody waste (mulch). Both products must be loaded by hand by the residents. A permit is required to use the compost facility.
The Compost Facility opens the first Tuesday in April and closes the second Saturday in December.
