Part Time Maintenance Person (Custodian)
Friendship Center

Lower Paxton Township Friendship Center possesses a vacancy in the part-time, varied shift position of Maintenance Person (Custodian).  An employee in this position performs manual work involving the cleaning and light maintenance of the Friendship Center, including simple repairs to fixtures, furnishings, and equipment.  An employee in this position is required to apply judgment based upon training and work experience.  He/she works independently under general supervision.  The Maintenance Person reports to the Facility Manager who has overall responsibility for building maintenance.  This is a union position.

Part-time shifts are available on weekdays and weekends.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:  Graduation from high school or an accredited equivalency program preferred but not required.  Must possess the ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions in the English language.

Other Requirements:  Current PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police record check, and FBI background check are required.

Part Time Program/Facility Manager
Friendship Center

Requisition No. 33-4001-13-19                 Hourly Rate $15.71

Lower Paxton Township is seeking an experienced individual to join the management team at the Friendship Center in the part-time, varied shift position of Program/Facility Manager.  The 62,000 square-foot Friendship Center includes a natatorium, weight/fitness area, climbing wall, gymnasium, aerobics studio, locker rooms, walking track, babysitting room, classrooms and offices.  In addition, the facility has an East Annex housing the Friendship Senior Center.  The center provides inter-generational programs and activities for preschool, youth, adults, families, and seniors.  An employee in this position works in coordination with other Facility Managers in providing excellent customer service to visitors and guests of the facility.  Other responsibilities include activity planning and supervision, employee supervision, facility management, rental coordination, budget, records maintenance, and inventory.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Training Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in recreation or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  Facility management and personnel supervision experience is highly desirable.  Experience in marketing, fitness programs, aquatics programs, and/or climbing wall/rock climbing experience is preferred.

Other Requirements:  Must possess, or obtain at time of employment, certification in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillators (AED).  A favorable criminal background check and favorable child abuse and FBI clearances are required.
