Resident Package
The following items are intended to familiarize both new
and long-time residents with some of the most commonly encountered
Township ordinances, procedures and services. These
points are organized by the department that generally deals
with such items.
Board of Supervisors
- The Supervisors, generally, conduct public meetings on
the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Tuesdays of each month, beginning
at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Center. The 1st and 3rd Tuesday
meetings are for general Township business. The 2nd Tuesday
meeting is a workshop session.
- The business meetings of the Supervisors are televised
on Comcast Cable channel 20.
- The Supervisors voice mail telephone number is 635-2616.

Community
Development Department
- Always check with the Community Development Department
prior to beginning any construction activity.
- A permit is required for the installation of a swimming
pool, sign, wood stove, sidewalk, curb or roof replacement.
- The Township requires fire suppression (sprinkler) systems
for certain types of commercial, industrial, and institutional
construction.
- Individuals are required to contact the PA One Call System
at (800) 242-1776 prior to digging deeper than 18 inches
outside of a public right-of-way. Inside a right-of-way
individuals must contact the PA
One Call System prior to any excavation.
- The Township has adopted the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction
Code, if you have questions please call the Building Department
for more information.
- A permit is not required for installation of a shed under
1,000 square feet, or a fence 6 feet high or less.
Police Department
- The Township enforces a curfew on persons under the age
of eighteen between midnight and 5:00 a.m., unless
they are accompanied by their parents or a responsible adult
designated by their parents.
- Dog licenses are required by Dauphin County and are sold
at various government and business locations. It is
illegal for individuals to have an unlicensed dog that is
three months old or older.
- All dogs three years old or older must possess a current
rabies vaccination.
- All bicycles must be registered with the Township.
Registration is from Monday through Friday from 7:00
a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The cost of a registration license
is $2.00.
- The Police Department will perform "house checks"
for residents who are on vacation. You can arrange for this
service by calling 657-5656, Monday through Friday 7 a.m.
- 7 p.m. Please call at least one day prior to leaving.
The maximum length of time for this service is 60 days.
- Persons needing the assistance of a Police Officer should
call the Dauphin County Dispatch Center at the following
phone numbers: Non-Emergency calls - 558-6900, Emergency
Calls - 911.
- Persons needing the assistance of the Township Fire Marshall
should call the Police Department Office at 657-5656.
To report a fire call 911.
- Any questions regarding Community Policing programs and
activities should be directed to Sgt. Tom Waller at
657-5656.
