David Blain

David B. Blain, CPA, CVA is a Senior Manager with the accounting
firm McKonly and Asbury, LLP (M&A). David's primary
role with M&A is that of the leader of their Insurance
and Financial Services market. David provides a number
of accounting and financial services for his clients ranging
from Sarbanes Oxley compliance to business valuations and
other general consulting services. Prior to joining
M&A, David spent over five years with BISYS Insurance
Services, Inc. (BISYS). Located in Lower Paxton Township,
BISYS provides support to over 100,000 independent life, long-term
care and health insurance agents across the United States.
While at BISYS, David was responsible for the financial management
of a budget of over $200 million in revenues and nearly $100
million in earnings as well as other critical business functions
relating to mergers and acquisitions, business integration
and other operational management issues. Prior to joining
BISYS, David spent five years with the international public
accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). It was
with PWC that David developed his vast knowledge of the insurance,
banking, higher education, healthcare and government industries.
David is a very active member of his community serving on
a number of local boards and commissions. Aside from
serving on the Lower Paxton Township Board of Supervisors
since 2002, David also serves on the Lower Paxton Township
Sewer Authority, on which he is the Treasurer. Also,
David serves on the Township's Audit Committee on which he
presides as the Chairman. David, also, is the Lower
Paxton Township representative to the Capital Tax Collection
Bureau where he also serves on the Bureau's Finance Committee.
Prior to being elected to the Lower Paxton Township Board
of Supervisors, David served as the Vice Chairman of the Township's
Planning Commission, where he took an active, lead role in
the development of the Township's Comprehensive Plan for community
development.
Outside of township and municipal service activities, David
also serves on the Finance Committee of his church, Calvary
United Methodist and is a member of the Colonial Park Rotary
Club. David also has recently been appointed to the
faculty advisory board for the accounting and finance programs
of the Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg.
David's professional designations as a Certified Public Accountant
and Certified Valuation Analyst have provided him membership
in the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public
Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation
Analysts, and the Institute of Internal Auditors. David
is also a member of the National, Pennsylvania, and Harrisburg
Associations of Insurance and Financial Professionals.
David is a life-long resident of Lower Paxton Township and
a graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, Harrisburg
Area Community College, and the Pennsylvania State University,
where he received his bachelors' degree in accounting in 1993.
David and his wife Kristin have been married for nearly ten
years and have two children, Peyton (4) and Sydney (1). |
