MAJOR CASES

On 12/08/2009, a 47 year old Hershey resident was at Linglestown Paint Ball, 1150 Wenrich St. when he was attacked, robbed of his wallet and stabbed. He was left overnight and discovered in a search of the area the next morning. He has recovered from his wounds but the perpetrator is unknown. There is no good description of the robber except that he was dressed like a hunter.

August 26, 2009 - Lower Paxton Township Police are investigating a series of burglaries that appear to be related, centered on the area just north of the Colonial Park Mall.  On August 26th at approximately 3:00 AM, police responded to a 911 call from a resident on Cove Rd. who reported that she had been awakened by a light being turned on in her house.   When she went to investigate, she heard someone running through her house and downstairs.  She followed, at first believing it to be one of her children, and then she observed a male subject crawling out of a window where a window air conditioner should have been.  Police followed a bicycle track in the wet grass from the house that went in a northerly direction past Ethyl St. toward Devonshire Rd. where the track disappeared on the roadway in the 4300 block.  The subject is described as an unknown race male, about 5’7” tall, thin build, wearing a black tank top or ribbed T-shirt, black pants and black shoes.  He was wearing a belt that had small square shaped silver studs.  In addition to this burglary, police believe the same person may be responsible for a burglary of a Doctors’ office reported on August 15th in the 4600 block of Devonshire Rd. where an air conditioner was removed to make entry and a flat screen TV was stolen; a burglary of a construction trailer at the East Shore Library on Ethel St. reported on August 17th where a quantity of tools were taken; a burglary of a residence reported on August 20th in the 4300 block of Ethel St. where entry was gained through a window and jewelry, a laptop and desktop computer, a flat screen TV and other items were taken and a blue “Ford Racing” baseball style hat was left behind; a burglary reported on August 24th in the 4200 block of Sussex Dr. where a plasma TV, a computer and a safe were taken; and a burglary of Class Motors in the 5600 block of Allentown Blvd. reported on August 15th where an air conditioner was removed for entry and drawers and file cabinets were rifled.  Several business burglaries in a strip mall in the 3900 block of Jonestown Rd. may possibly also be related to these.

6/16/2009 - Lower Paxton Township Police are investigating an attack on a Township resident that occurred overnight on June 16, 2009 in her home on Arklow Dr. in the Hidden Lake development.  Police received information around 1:50 AM that a Township resident had been attacked.  Upon arrival, they discovered that someone had forcibly entered the residence.  The victim was discovered inside.  She told police that at approximately 12:30 AM she had been in the residence getting ready to turn in when she heard a noise downstairs.  She investigated and at first found nothing.  However, she was attacked as she walked back up the stairs.  She described the attacker as:

  • Black/Male
  • Approximately 5’8”
  • Muscular build
  • Short, military-style haircut
  • Scruffy beard
  • Wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt

Police have submitted forensic evidence to the PSP Crime Lab and are awaiting results.
